secondary muscle affected?

muscle
bob the builer asked:

When you work out and do a exercise you know how there is the primary muscle being worked out and then seconday muscles example seated one arm tricep- works the tricep mostly and shouders are secondary.. I like to gain muscle quickly and so like to give my muscle at least two days to rest so they can heal (also working out a muscle group that has already been worked out can disrupt the healing and growth of muscle fibers). If on monday I did the arnold press (primary-shoulders, secondary- tricep) and tuesday i worked on my seated tricep (primary tricep, secondary-none) then will it disrupt my tricep muscle growth?

First, you are absolutely right that one of the fastest ways to build muscle is to rest.

So, you really have a couple of options. The first is to make sure that you don't do the shoulders again until two days after the triceps. That would look like this…

Day 1 - Shoulders
Day 2 - Triceps
Day 3 - Rest
Day 4 - Rest
Day 5 - Shoulders
Day 6 - Triceps

The other option, if you have time, would be to work the shoulders, and then work the triceps afterward on the same day.

The only thing I would watch is your chest workouts - your shoulders and triceps are secondary movers there.

At the end of the day, getting enough rest is key, so either way, try to get two days from the last time you hit your smaller muscles to the next time you use them as a support muscle.
