Powerlifting and martial arts?

I am 14 years old and I started powerlifting when I was 8 years old. I have been doing Kung fu for 4 years. Is my speed slow? I can punch 5 times in 1 second.

Of course your not slow. Just make make your muscles too big. Also be sure to develop your strong but flexible tendons so you can maintain your speed.

Hey I know another teenager that started poerlifting at that age. Guess what, his muscles got to strong for his growing bones and caused multiple injuries (muscles pulling his bones apart, sometimes causing a break). To the point that just about every year when I see him, he's either in crutches or a sling of some kind.
Forget punching speed, stop powerlifting. I'm not saying stop weight training, just stop powerlifting.
