bodybuilding vs powerlifting?
sfgfd asked:
ok so ive always wondered which was better. my friend told me that bodybuilders actually arent that strong and they just look good while powerlifters are actually strong but usually dont have those defined good looking muscles. is this true? i would much rather be stronger so should i power lift? and if i powerlift will my muscles not grow as much as a bodybuilders but still stronger?

powerlifting is a technique while bodybuilding is a sport type thing.

lift 3 sets of 8-12. this is better then just one or two reps cause pwr lifting gets bulk only. 8-12 gets power, quickness and bulk.
when you work out you tear your muscles tear, forcing them to heal by making muscle tissue, making you stronger. you need to rest every other day so the muscle tissue can grow back and get bigger.
alternate exercises so your muscles get a fuller workout.
it is good to feel the burn but dont push yourself so hard that you overdo it. when you first start working out your body has to ajust to what your doing forcing it to build more muscle mass. after two to three weeks you should put on more weights(about 5-10 lbs per 1-2 weeks) so your body doesnt get acustomed to what youre doing, making your workout less effective.
In the morning, before you eat breakfast is best time to work out. Keep blood in the body and out of the intestine And then eat a good clean protein and plenty of liquid

Body builders tend to do a lot of reps with relatively lighter weights and watch their diets closely as to fat to protein ratio. Power lifters do less reps with as much weight as can be used. They eat tons of protein to build weight so they can handle more weight.

with power lifting u wont look as strong but will be alot stronger than a body buider. body builders dehydate themselves before a competiotn to lose water from their muscles so they look defined. u can be defined with power lifting as well however if u go rbough reps per set.(about 10-12)

That's kind of true
Body Builders work on looking strong and not being strong and Power Lifters work on being strong and not looking strong.
It's possible to look strong and be strong at the same time.
You just have to be really disciplined in your routines.
